Anyone working in Food Rescue is a Hero in my eyes and so many others, I remember when I was 18 (close to 30 years ago now) new in the hospitality industry seeing so much food waste, it was never discussed or even a topic heard of to address the food I was seeing wasted on a daily basis in just one supermarket ….. memories of looking through rubbish bins as a 5 year old being Hungry. experiencing poverty and seeing a need at that moment I knew In my heart that someday i was going to make a difference

Alongside all Food Rescue Heros We are grateful for the amazing support other Food Rescue organization’s have provided us, In Auckland KiwiHarvest, Fair Food and Auckland City Mission have all been a huge support to helping us help others feeding the need.

We have seen more organization’s collecting food to help provide for their communities & its great to see even churches joining together to form food banks there is clear need that Food Rescue is needed all over NZ and Food Rescue organizations have had an extremely busy year collecting as much food we can to help provide for people in need during some very difficult times. its times like this we all need to be working together

We Rescued 21 March - 12 September 149 Tons 24.83 tons per month over 6 months - this is over double of what we collected in the previous year.

149,000 Kilos equivalent to 80,460 meals.

in green house gas emissions that’s 262.76 average cars driven for one year

or 1162876.569 Kilometers driven by an average passenger vehicle

Equivalent to CO2 emissions from:

29.74 homes energy use for one year or

Equivalent to the weight of: 53 African bush elephants per year
